"to inspire and cultivate connections to the natural world through art, education, and field study programs".
The Ecology Center at the North Cascades Basecamp
The Ecology Center at North Cascades Basecamp offers a wide variety of activities and gatherings for people of all ages. The facilities are available year round to meet the needs of groups who want to experience the North Cascades through education, conservation and artisan workshops, naturalist retreats, presentations, classes and programs, as well as children and family camps.
Take advantage of the serenity, inspiring views, and the amazing landscape of the Methow Valley with a weekend of nature journaling or photography class, learning wildlife tracking and habitats, or lessons making birdhouses. Be part of our annual spring amphibian monitoring program, watch the fall raptor migration, learn about the geology of the North Cascade Mountain range, or take a guided wildflower hike. Ask about our 2-hr guided naturalist hikes, and check our Calendar page for seasonal specials and Basecamp Ecology Center Programs.
Artists, naturalists, yoga instructors, and educators of all kinds with enthusiasm and teaching skills are encouraged to contact us to setup an event at the Basecamp’s Ecology Center. Trades for services are always welcome!
