The Cedar Trail just outside the basecamp lodge

Amenities

The North Cascades Basecamp offers many opportunities for guests to learn skills during a naturalist program, rest & relax on a family vacation, or recreate in the North Cascades mountains. Come and enjoy the sitting on the sundeck, stroll in our herb and flower gardens, hike or ski/snowshoe the trails within our 20 acres of cedar forest and beaver ponds, and meander along the rocky banks of the Methow River. There are many quiet places for reflection and meditation, as well as an outdoor hot tub and wood-fired sauna (coming in winter 2010-11). The Basecamp also provides bikes for guests to borrow for a leisurely cruise along Lost River Road. Your stay at the Basecamp includes meals served with farm-fresh eggs and sustainably grown fruit, veggies and grains from our local farmers and garden whenever possible.

North Cascade Basecamp welcomes families. When planning a visit, please ask for room accommodations that are most suitable to your family. The owners have young children themselves, so a swimming/ frog pond and outdoor adventures, as well as up-coming Jr. Naturalist checklist and a nature-based playground at the Basecamp are welcoming to kids (and therefore parents). Programs and naturalist walks can be open to younger participants (under 10 yrs) with advanced notice. Call for further information. For younger children, our Kid's Space in the Lodge is equipped with children’s’ books, toys, and games.

Dining at the Basecamp is a memorable experience. We provide a locally grown buffet breakfast during all seasons of the year, and host three meals per day served in our dining room during winter season months. Full meals are available for groups during any season; call for rates. Delicious desserts are served with dinner. Given advance notice, we are happy to create menus that accommodate vegetarian, vegan, wheat-free or lactose-free diets. We do not serve alcohol but invite guests to bring beer or wine to enjoy with meals if they wish.
